Role Description:

The Application Support engineer will work in an international team environment with operations and development colleagues to ensure application operations for PAYBACK Italy, Mexico, Austria and Poland.
This role serves the organization in the following capacity:
  • You are responsible for the 2nd level operation, administration and configuration of web (Apache / Tomcat) and application servers (Weblogic)
  • You are monitoring (including continuous improvements) and analysing the performance issues and incidents
  • You are in charge to solve Incident-, Change- and Problem management
  • You interface with external service providers and partners, ensuring consistent service delivery across the platform
  • You do post-mortem analysis for every prio 1 and prio2 incident handled by the team, with emphasis on continuous improvement
  • You have an continous interface with business partners and sponsors, driving rapid issue resolution for identified event and incident
  • You support automated deployments
  • You own a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • You have necessarily at least 3 years of operations experience in application support team, with emphasis on monitoring, incident, problem, and change management procedures following ITL process
  • You have a solid knowledge of Linux operating systems, including shell or python scripting & programming
  • You have experience with operation, administration, and configuration of web (Apache / Tomcat) and application servers (Weblogic)
  • You have experience with alerting and monitoring tools
  • You have working knowledge of flat file and XML based batch processing as well as advanced SQL / DLL knowledge
  • You own a strong ability to communicate clearly with Business Partners, Leadership and vendors
  • You are ready to work in ON CALL model (i.e. to provide support during weekends / holidays etc.)
