PAYBACK fundraising cheque underlines commitment to German Sports Aid Foundation

PAYBACK Marketingleiter Julian Wicht überreichte zum Abschluss der WM den Scheck an den geschäftsführenden Vorstand der Sporthilfe, Dr. Michael Ilgner.

PAYBACK, Germany’s largest bonus scheme, has raised €10,000 for German Sports Aid Foundation (Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe) with its “standing long jump” fundraising initiative at the Athletics World Championships in Berlin. A large number of visitors to the DLV (German Athletics Association) World Championships Club joined in the fun and “jumped for a good cause”.

At the end of the major sporting event, PAYBACK Marketing Manager Julian Wicht handed over a cheque to the German Sports Aid Foundation’s Executive Director Dr. Michael Ilgner. “It’s a great result for a creative charity idea – visitors to the World Championships Club were queuing up to have a go,” enthused Ilgner. “We are extremely grateful to PAYBACK for its continued commitment to such initiatives and we will be using the proceeds to foster the next generation of athletics talent ready for London 2012,” he added.

“Our role as a premium sponsor of the DLV’s World Championships Club and our Sports Aid campaign underline our commitment to top-level sport in Germany,” stated Wicht.

PAYBACK has been a partner of the German Olympic Association since 2003, supporting the German Olympic teams in Athens, Turin and Beijing. The bonus scheme organised a fundraising campaign at all these Games, with the proceeds going to the Sports Aid Foundation. To date, it has raised a total of around €300,000 for Germany's number one institution promoting top-level sport.
